Hi, I am Feisty Mommy. I am not entirely sure why that name resonated with me. Maybe it is because I will fight hard for my children to have the best childhood possible. Even if it means I have to be feisty about it sometimes. I grew up with an alcoholic mother and a very inattentive workaholic father. I was raped at a young age, and I was neglected and abused frequently. The vicious cycles began long before I was ever even a thought in either of my parents' minds... Yet even with the vicious cycles repeating and being passed down from generation to generation I made the conscientious choice to make sure they ended with me. The moment I became a mother; was the moment I knew I had to be the change. Now I have a platform to share my story with others in hopes of helping someone, anyone out there, who may be hurting realize that it can end with them. You can be the change your family needs to end the trauma and pain. You can be the one that says it ends here. It just a choice that you have to make. Share the pain or end it. After reading this I feel like I know exactly who you are. I am pretty sure your mother was a friend of mine and we stopped being friends after I saw the way y'all were treated and neglected. I am so sorry. If I am wrong about who this is, even still I am so sorry sweetie.

I can resonate with a lot of your blogs. I was assaulted at a young age, but I didn't have the added issue of a mother that didn't care to help. I can't imagine how that must have made you feel. It takes someone purely evil to be that way to anyone, especially their own child.

I’m a male and was always scared to speak out about sexual abuse. I feel like there’s more of a stigma when a boy has to come forward. It’s a different kind of shaming in our mind I guess. I also had no mother but she wasn’t in the picture at all. It was just my dad and he didn’t give the vibe that you could tell him anything.

A lot of families seem to like sweeping things under the rug. Mine was the same way. They just dont understand that it makes the trauma and situation so much worse.
